Teacher Salary Schedule


To be considered for a certificated position with Marshall County Schools (teacher, administrator, or any position which requires a license), you must have the following:

1.  At least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;

2.  A valid Tennessee teaching certificate for the level and/or subject area that you are to teach, or be eligible for a temporary, transitional Tennessee teaching certificate;

3.  Be “Highly Qualified” under “No Child Left Behind” Legislation in the core teaching subject you are applying for;

4.  A completed on-line Marshall County Schools Certificated Application.

If you hold a Tennessee teaching license, please scan and attach a copy to your application.  If you do not hold a Tennessee teaching license, you must meet eligibility requirements for an alternative certificate in the area you wish to teach. To be considered for a classified or support position (maintenance, educational assistants, cafeteria, etc.), you must:

1.   Meet the minimum qualifications for the position you are seeking;

2.   Have completed our on-line or paper application;

3.   Include transcripts (optional). 

All applications must be complete with all applicable blanks completed. A resume is not a substitute for the application, but may be attached to your file.

All employees must complete a form to check criminal history records on applicants  before being considered for employment.

Sick Leave for All Employees

Marshall County School System Sick Leave Bank provides for the sharing of sick leave days among eligible participants who have suffered an unplanned personal illness, injury, disability or quarantine and whose personal and sick leave is exhausted. All rules and regulations established by Title-49, Chapter 5, Part 806 of the Tennessee Code Annotated and the Trustees shall govern the administration of the bank. Click here for more information.
